Feb 21 Building a Successful Stepfamily Conference  with Ron Deal, author of SmartSteps, in Richmond 8:30 am – 5pm. The conference is being held at St Giles Presbyterian Church 5200 Grove Ave. Youth Program and Childcare available. Sponsored by First Things First, CCTC and many denominations and congregations.   www.FirstThingsRichmond.org   or call (804) 358-1343.

Concept:

This event offers encouragement, wisdom, and compassion for puzzling times in blending families.  30 % of weddings are forming blending families and 65% of remarriages will end in divorce but they can beat the odds with help… the seminar brings the practical solutions they need for finding sanity and success in today’s stepfamilies.

Speaker:

Ron Deal, LMFT, LPC is a noted author, therapist, and stepfamily educational specialist recognized as perhaps the national expert on stepfamilies. His books include The Smart Stepfamily: Seven Steps to a Healthy Family, co-author with Dr. David Olson of The Remarriage Couple Checkup. Currently he is a member of the Stepfamily Expert Council for the National Stepfamily Resource Center, and is an adjunct faculty member of Talbot School of Theology's doctoral program in effective family ministry.  Ron is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor with 20 years experience in church ministry.

“Successful Stepfamilies is the most highly practical program I know for helping couples who are dealing with the common struggles of stepparenting… I highly recommend this program.”       --   Dr. Gary Chapman, Author of Five Love Languages

I heartily recommend support of this Stepfamilies Conference.  Ron Deal's book is the book I give to couples I am doing premarital counseling with who are about to become blended families..   -----Steve Hartman, Senior Pastor, Third Presbyterian church
